Our Employees & Contractors
Our Employee drivers have on average, over 10 years of experience in the delivery business. Our drivers are the face and the upfront men and women that the majority of our clients and their agents get to see on a daily basis. We have had the benefit of working with many of these employees at the first U.S. Messenger - which means that they have well over ten years experience!. They are motivated employees of our firm, not independent contractors. They receive holiday pay, life insurance and health benefits.
All of our employee drivers carry mobile telephones by Nextel-Sprint, we use the latest in communications technologies from Nextel and have recently upgraded our radio fleet to utilize data, text messaging and GPS tracking.. The driving staff wears company uniforms, including outer wear and possesses company issued photo identification cards.
Drivers are individually trained to do each specific route. They are not expected to just "pickup a route sheet and go do the route." Each driver has an experienced trainer with them when they perform a route for the first time, and in the case of newer employees, until he or she feels ready to do it by themself.
We hold periodic safety contests and present safe driver(s) of the year and attendance awards annually at our company family picnic.
In Ohio our fleet is Independent Contractor based and driven.
In-House Personnel
USML has nearly 100 personnel that are responsible for the receipt and delivery of packages for many of the largest buildings in downtown Chicago. We currently oversee the Intercept Courier operation for fifteen buildings. We receive packages from outside individuals and deliver them upstairs to the buildings tenants within an agreed upon time parameter. We also do this in reverse when tenants need packages sent out we retrieve them and make them available for pickup in the Intercept Messenger Center.
Support Personnel
Our support personnel are the behind the scenes heroes of U. S. Messenger. Our dispatch personnel include: Eric Karcher, Jean Thomas, Cathy Franc and Freddy Madrigal. Rating clerk Susan Becker, Accounts Receivable clerk - Diane Wilk and Information Systems Director Marcia Benzuly. We also have several other individuals that fill in as the need requires including Matt and Dan Gonzales.
